We've all seen the videos of the destruction caused by flooding, and several pictures of the impacts have been widely shared online. One of the places that was severely damaged by flooding was Stafford Animal Shelter in Livingston.

In the wake of the flooding, many people have stepped up to help, including popular country artist Miranda Lambert. Lambert is an animal lover and an advocate for animal shelters. She asked her fans to make a donation to her Muttnation Foundation to help the shelter rebuild.

In addition to Lambert, several local businesses in the Livingston area have offered to help.

Tanya Saueressig, owner of Blue Rider Tattoo Company, held a tattoo marathon fundraiser to help with rebuilding efforts for the Stafford Animal Shelter on Monday. During the fundraiser, Sauerssig and her employees tattooed nearly 40 people and raised $2,200 for the shelter.

We reached out to Saueressig to ask what motivated her to plan the fundraiser.

This is what she said:

Everybody loves Stafford Animal Shelter. They are a very important part of the community and we wanted to help them rebuild after their building was totally destroyed during the flood.

Iron Maiden Welding, another local business in Belgrade, decided to match the amount raised by Blue Rider Tattoo Company, to further help the Stafford Animal Shelter.

If you want to help Stafford Animal Shelter in Livingston, an “S.O.S. (Save our Shelter) Flood Relief Fund” has been set up at First Interstate Bank in Livingston.
