Whether it's for business or pleasure, nothing beats the great feeling of returning to your hotel room to find the bed perfectly made, the toilet paper folded into a neat little point and fresh towels stacked and ready to use. Do you leave a tip for the person who magically made your life?

I have to admit that it hasn't occurred to me to tip a hotel housekeeper. I'm kind, I'm more than appreciative of anyone who will clean a room after a perfect stranger and take pride in their work but leaving money - I considered it an insult.

I'm so wrong. In fact, Marriott International is now encouraging guests to tip room attendants by providing an envelope in each room.

Is this pressure to do something you wouldn't typically do or a great reminder to show appreciation to that magic person who makes life look perfect and put together when you return back to your room?
