Certain businesses in Montana seem to have been around forever. Many of them are considered local landmarks. Unfortunately, many of those places have disappeared throughout the years. A popular bar and restaurant in Montana closed in September but will reopen under a new name soon.
Popular Roadside Bar in Montana Gets New Life and Name
Great news! The Road Kill Saloon near Big Timber has new owners, and will reopen soon with a brand new name! Big Timber native, Eric Lowe purchased the Road Kill Saloon in McLeod, Montana in September and has big plans to restore the iconic business to its previous glory.

The business was originally located in McLeod and was known as the McLeod Bar but moved to its current location along Main Boulder Rd. in 1947. It was renamed the Road Kill Cafe, and most recently, Holly's Road Kill Saloon. Now, the popular establishment has a new name. Boulder River Roadkill will celebrate its grand opening on Saturday, October 19, and Sunday, October 20.

Actor Steve Buscemi wore a t-shirt from the Road Kill Cafe in McLeod in the popular 90s movie Airheads, which also stars Adam Sandler, Brendan Fraser, and Chris Farley. Boulder River Roadkill is located at 1557 Main Boulder Road. For more information, click here.
