One of my favorite parts about living in Big Sky Country is the small towns.  Montana is blessed to have several small towns that are not only charming and a throwback to yesterday, but also represent what makes this place so unique.

For those longing for days long past, a day trip to one of these small Montana towns will almost certainly cure whatever ails you, or at least take you back to a simpler time and possibly bring down the stress level a little bit.

I bring this up because I saw an interesting bumper sticker the other day that got me thinking and I think represents the feelings of a whole lot of Montanans.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get a picture of the bumper sticker, but it wasn't anything super fancy, it just got right to the point. "Bozeman, just 10 minutes from Montana"

I think lots of folks can relate to the sticker, especially those who were either born in Bozeman or have spent most of their lives living in the city. It's a debate that happens multiple times a day between folks living in the popular Montana city.

Old Bozeman VS New Bozeman.

I've spoken to a lot of people that aren't really fond of what they perceive Bozeman has become.  In fact, I had a conversation over the weekend with someone that said they try to avoid the town at all costs because the people come across as rude and judgemental.

Others say that Bozeman's best days are behind it, and the city is a shell of what it used to be. They feel it's become a city that caters to the rich and elite that have moved here and caused many locals to feel like their once beloved town and its way of life are long gone.

Personally, I haven't experienced that, in fact, I find most Bozemanites to be very friendly. Sure, the town has its issues with the cost of housing and paying folks enough to keep up with the cost of living here, but it's one of the most beautiful places on the planet, so some of that is to be expected.

As the town continues to grow, the opinions are like to do the same.  Here's the good news, even though Bozeman isn't what it used to be, for those missing Montana, apparently it's only 10 minutes away.
