The folks over at Outside Online came out with a list of the 7 towns to consider if you're looking for beautiful scenery at an affordable cost and the Montana town that made the list is one of the most historic in the state. So which Montana town made the list of the 7 most affordable in America? That would be the historic town of Anaconda.
With a population of around 10 thousand people and a median home price of around 230,000 dollars, Anaconda has a lot going for it. Not only is there the history of the town during the great copper boom, but you're only 30 minutes from Butte and 90 minutes from Missoula which allows you to have the small-town feel, but the convenience of not traveling far to to a bigger city.
Throw in the fact that the town has a charming downtown, golf, a state park, and proximity to Fairmont Hot Springs, and you could do a whole lot worse. What Montana town is your favorite?
