Make Us Proud! Meet Montana’s Singer For American Song Contest
Could we see a Montana artist make some noise at this first annual American Song Contest?
Variety is reporting on Monday, March 21st will debut the first annual American Song Contest on NBC. If you don't know what the American Song Contest is, the show is essentially the United States version of Europe's Eurovision. Every state will have one singer/songwriter debut a brand new original song, and the country will decide who has the best.
From the look at the list of competitors, there are some well-known artists such as Jewel(Alaska), The Crystal Method(Nevada), and Allen Stone(Washington), but what about Montana? Who will be representing Big Sky Country? We have that answer.
Billings native and country artist Jonah Prill will be Montana's pick for the American Song Contest. The 24-year-old has gained a lot of notoriety over the past year, thanks to TikTok, where he has over 800,000 followers. If there is one thing that people in Montana love, it's a country boy who can sing, and Jonah Prill has a few songs that will resonate with locals.
The way the American Song Contest works is every episode the show will release a batch of new original songs. Then the public votes on who had the best song in that group. Whoever gets the most votes moves to the semi-finals and then the finals.
American Song Contest seems like the type of show where we could see some under-the-radar talent like Jonah debut and make a big splash for their career. (WARNING! THE VIDEO BELOW HAS NSFW LANGUAGE)
As soon as we find out when Jonah Prill will debut at American Song Contest we will let you know, but we have no doubt Jonah will make Montana proud. Good luck!
Also, the show is to be hosted by America's sweethearts Kelly Clarkson and Snoop Dogg. Who won't be watching this show?
