Montana Has 2nd Cheapest Drive-In Movie Theaters in America

Movies theaters have become extremely popular once again. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and major indoor theaters closing across the nation, drive-in movies theaters have once again become relevant. It's safe to say that they are making a comeback.

In the Gallatin Valley, we currently have three drive-in movie theaters. They are listed below.

• The Pasture Drive-In Theater (Manhattan)
• Drive-In behind Bubby's Burger Barn (Belgrade)
• Starlite Drive-In Theater (Near Four Corners)

According to WorkWise, Montana is home to the 2nd cheapest drive-in movie theaters prices in the country. The average ticket price in Montana is $6.33, compared to the national average of $10.14.

Not only can you get a cheaper movie ticket in Montana, but you couldn't ask for a better backdrop. The scenery in Montana is unparalleled. Based on Yelp data, drive-in movie theaters in Montana have earned a 4.60 rating out of a possible 5 from the community. Across the country, drive-in movie theaters have a 4.59 star rating.

Many drive-in theaters in the Gallatin Valley have been showing older, classic movies every weekend throughout the summer. However, the Starlite Drive-in will show the latest Star Wars film, The Rise of Skywalker on Saturday, Sept. 19.

Montana currently has less than ten drive-in theaters. Many of which are temporary, and will most likely shut down after things get back to normal. Some states, like Alaska, Delaware, North Dakota, Hawaii, and Louisiana, don't have a drive in theater at all.
