Montana Has Lowest Number of COVID-19 Cases in Lower 48
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Montana has the lowest number of COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations, and deaths in the lower 48.
In fact, Montana, Alaska, and Hawaii are the only states with less than 1,000 confirmed cases.
The following information was updated Wednesday, June 24 and is provided by the Montana Department of Health & Human Services.
As of Wednesday, June 24, the state has 766 confirmed cases. 75,006 people have been tested for COVID-19. There have been 93 hospitalizations, 571 people recovered, and 21 people have died. Alaska and Hawaii have a lower number of deaths, but are not in the lower 48.
Montana currently has 174 active COVID-19 cases, and 17 active hospitalizations. There has been a spike in COVID-19 cases, with the highest number of new cases (31) on June 19. Gallatin County has reported the largest number of confirmed cases in the state with 216 as of Wednesday, but has reported only one death. Over 25% of Montana's case have been in Gallatin County.
