This can be a time of year when people can be a little cavalier using their personal information on the internet to buy products for loved ones but we all should be more careful due to identity theft.

Wallet Hub came out with a ranking of the States Most Vulnerable to Identity Theft and Fraud and luckily our state, Montana was one of the best at preventing identity theft and fraud.

Montana ranked 42nd on the list and that's actually nice to hear. We ranked low for Identity Theft, Fraud and Policy ranks. I love the Montana is responsible.

During this time of the year many folks can be very risky with their information either personal or financial so they can get all the presents for their loved ones. The thing is there are so many sketchy websites out there that look like that might have quality products or some of the biggest items wanted right now, looking at your Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X, and they will do anything to get them.

The problem is that can lead to your details of your bank account and identity being stolen and that would be awful just in time for Christmas. So just remember to be careful where you buy your gifts online especially this year with everyone buying everything online.

Please be careful with where you buy things and if you can buy local and support the small businesses in the Gallatin Valley. For instance, I went into Cactus Records and ordered a few vinyl records for my sister for Christmas.

Be careful and safe this Christmas and for more details on the rankings, check out Wallet Hub.
