Former Kicker For Montana State Announces New School
Maybe he was tired of constantly playing in the cold and wanted to spend the rest of his days in a sunny climate.
What is happening with Montana State football? The MSU Bobcats reached the FCS National Championship game in 2022 and the FCS Semifinals this past year. Who wouldn't want to be a part of a program with great success?
If you haven't heard, there have been some Montana State players entering the transfer portal, and it includes players that don't play often to star players. The one player entering the transfer portal that surprised everyone was the Bobcat all-time leader in rushing yards Isiah Ifanse.
This past Saturday, December 31st, Montana State's kicker Blake Glessner, announced he would be entering the transfer portal. Glessner has been one of the best kickers in FCS for the past couple of years and has been a crucial part of Montana State's offense and special teams. Now we know where Glessner will be heading for football.

Blake Glessner will have two years of eligibility left and will be heading to a UCLA football program that has been revitalized by head coach Chip Kelly. UCLA picked up Glessner after their kicker Nicholas Barr-Mira announced he would enter the transfer portal.
As a Bobcat fan, I am sad to see Glessner leave, but as a UCLA football fan, this is exciting news. Glessner has been one of the most consistent kickers in FCS and has a big leg to kick long-field goals. Plus, UCLA has been known as a school to have high-profile kickers head to the NFL.
UCLA has had kickers Justin Medlock, Kai Forbath, Ka'Imi Fairbairn, and Norm Johnson have long careers in the NFL. This pickup by UCLA football was extremely smart, and Glessner will be on the national stage every week.
The Bobcats will have a long road ahead of them in finding a kicker to replace Glessner, but we will see what National Signing Day brings for Montana State.
