My quest for the perfect dog trail continued with a hike up Storm Castle.  We got this hike in right before the snow fell, which is actually the perfect weather for the dogs.  The trail head is about 25 minutes from my house up the Gallatin Canyon.

We got to the trail around 3:45pm, so most people we met were coming down and heading home.  The trail leading to Storm Castle has six large switchbacks with a 15 to 20 percent grade. The trail is narrow at points, has some slight washes, and is a little gravely so you need to be attention to where you are stepping.  The highlight of Storm Castle would be the dog friendly locals, and the views!!  This is a great trail and I would highly suggest it.  One of my early favorites!!
