October is a month of awareness! Not only is it Breast Cancer Awareness Month, it is also Domestic Violence Awareness Month. HAVEN, the local domestic violence shelter, has planned a number of activities  in coordination with other community groups to not only raise awareness about family violence, but to also prevent violence in our community. Join MSU students, faculty and community members for a panel and discussion about Domestic
Violence and homicide.

Tuesday October 18th: HAVEN’s 33rd Birthday Party , 5:00pm-7:00pm Baxter Hotel
Swing by to say hello and meet HAVEN’s new Executive Director, Kristy McFetridge, and learn how you can help.  If you would like to bring a birthday present, please look at our wish list on our

Thursday October 20th: HAVEN and VOICE Center Speak Out, 6:00pm-7:30pm SUB Ballroom C
Have you been affected by domestic violence? Do you have a story to tell? Join HAVEN and VOICE Center advocates for the inaugural domestic violence speak out. This is a confidential and
supportive space to share experiences and heal from abuse.

October 17-21: MSU VOICE Center presents the Clothesline Project, MSU Campus
This exhibit features t-shirts made my victims of abuse and others affected by abuse hung on a
clothesline for the public to see.

Saturday October 22nd: Chalk the Walk, 11:00am-1:00pm Downtown Bozeman
Want to brighten someone’s day?  HAVEN and community supporters will be chalking the downtown sidewalks with positive messages about respect and healthy relationships. Join us any time between 11am and 1pm at the Downtown USBank location to pick up chalk.

Sunday October 23rd: HAVEN Trivia Night, 5:00pm-7:00pm 406 Brewing Company
Back by popular demand, trivia night with DJ Missy O’Malley. Grab a friend and your thinking cap to join HAVEN and supporters for a fun night. Donations are suggested.
