On Tuesday, The Gallatin County Commission voted to cancel the Big Sky Country State Fair after the fair board recommended its cancellation in a meeting last week.

Public safety is a huge concern, and the uncertainly of the COVID-19 pandemic were main factors in the decision to cancel the fair.

According to Big Sky Country State Fair Manager, Dennis Voller, the Gallatin County Commission accepted the recommendation from the fair board to to cancel the fair, however 4-H members may have an option to hold events. The vote was unanimous from the commission.
