You are going to see more folks out and about riding their bicycles and you might want to make sure you are following all of the rules.

The Bozeman Police Facebook page released an incredible and helpful video about the rights and responsibilities for bicyclists when they are out in the City of Bozeman because sometimes I think they forget. Here's the post.

I personally love this video because we all have had problems with bicyclists in Bozeman and they definitely need a refresher on the rules of the road. Bicyclists aren't allowed to used pedestrian crosswalks to ride their bikes, they need to indicate when turning and they need to stop at stop signs. Seems pretty simple right?

Well, the thing is with things getting back to normal we might see an increase of folks riding their bikes and they need to make sure they are following the rules of the road and being respectful to the motorists.

Here's the thing I have had problems with bicyclists on the side streets more than on the busy streets of Bozeman. People don't wear helmets and just fly through intersections without stopping or making sure there is traffic coming and it's enough to make your blood boil but it's also terrifying.

Please this spring and summer if you are out riding your bike to be careful and respect the cars around you because you have to follow the same laws or you might get a citation.
