Another FREE seminar is happening this Saturday at Cashman's Nursery, and this time we're going to learn tips and tricks to creating healthy container gardens. With the right knowledge, you can grow flowers OR food in small spaces.

It sounds like this seminar will focus mostly on building containers with flowers and greenery, hosted by Lucia Christie of Skagit Gardens Bedding Plants. It will be held at Cashman's Nursery, just off Springhill and North 19th by the Blue Basket (just south of Riverside Country Club in Bozeman.)

If you've never put together your own containers in the spring, please do yourself a favor and try it this year. It's one of my favorite things to do because to be honest, it's EASY - and  class like this is going to make it every easier. Learning tips about how to 'layer' plants and flowers, along with advice on what lasts the longest, etc. will be helpful to everyone.

Container gardening is awesome for those of us who don't have much space. Flowers, greenery, and vegetables all have a place on my front porch - and they're all in containers. Between that front porch and the hanging baskets under a tree, sometimes I don't plant ANYTHING in the ground. Weird but it works for me.

NOTE: Some of these classes are very popular, especially the classes in the beginning of the season. You might want to arrive a few minutes early if you require a good seat. Rarely do they become standing room only but it DOES happen.

Cashman's Nursery hosts these kinds of classes all season long. (You can see a list of their classes below.) They are generally free and open to the public. If for some reason there's a cost, it will be clearly stated on the Facebook events page.
