Most Popular Ticket In Town? Many Montana State Fans Not Happy
Excitement and anticipation for the upcoming season is to be expected when the Montana State Bobcats are currently ranked 3rd in preseason stats. The demand for game tickets was through the roof on Monday when they went on sale. Unfortunately, most people looking to buy tickets walked away empty handed or with Standing Room Only tickets. Availability of game tickets was limited before the clock struck 10am and the ticket link went live.
People trying to buy tickets for specific games were baffled how seats could go so quickly. For instance, one person looking to purchase (unsuccessfully) for the 9/30 game asked: "Why is standing room only available for the 9/30 game? Myself and several others were signed on immediately at 10am. Seems like all games are standing room only?"
"We were down to scattered single seats for that game before opening up for sale at 10am - long line at the ticket office and hundred online buying tickets, so some games are going fast! We shared a graphic earlier on this page that shows availability as of 9am (Monday morning)." -Montana State Bobcats Facebook
Season tickets for the 2023-2024 season were already sold out. Then, there's a Priority Point system that allows early access to purchase tickets at the end of July. It can be a confusing way of selling tickets but it does have it's advantages - repeat, loyal, ticket-buying fans get early access basically. This is what MSUBobcats.com states:
Priority Point early access for single game tickets starts on July 31. Single game tickets will be made available to the general public beginning August 7.
(As of Tuesday, August 8th) STUDENT TICKETS AND BUDDY PASSES ARE SOLD OUT. A LIMITED NUMBER OF FREE STANDING ROOM ONLY TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE TO STUDENTS FIRST COME FIRST SERVED AT THE NORTH ENTRANCE OF THE BRICK BREEDEN FIELDHOUSE WITH A VALID CATCARD.
Needless to say, after Priority Point folks had their time to purchase game tickets, there just weren't very many left. It's as simple as that. Supply and demand has gotten the best of Bobcat tickets this season. Nothing nefarious, but frustrating none the less for people hoping to buy single game tickets.
