One of the great things about living in Montana is the endless opportunities to get outdoors and explore. Montana has a lot to offer if you and your family are planning on taking a road trip.

Montana is home to two National Parks and various state parks. If you want to hit the road and go on an exciting adventure, you have a lot of options.

Popular Mechanics just released a list of road trip stops in every state that you need to add to your list if you're looking to hit the road this summer.

If you're planning a road trip through Montana, Lewis and Clark Caverns State Park was named a must-see road trip stop by Popular Mechanics. Lewis & Clark Caverns State Park features one of the largest known limestone caverns in the Northwest.

Cave tours are guided tours only and are available from May - September. Paradise tours are scheduled to start May 21 with full tours starting May 28.

Lewis & Clark Caverns State Park also features camping and trails to hike or bike, a state-of-the-art visitor center, interpretive displays, a gift shop, food and beverage concessions, an amphitheater, and interpretive events presented during the summer months.

Lewis & Clark Caverns State Park is located 19 miles west of Three Forks on Montana Highway 2 or 15 miles east of Whitehall on Montana Highway 2.
