It was a ROUGH week for so many folks looking to buy Big Sky PBR tickets, that went on sale March 1st. General Admission tickets were sold out in the blink of an eye, leaving scores of loyal PBR fans without tickets for the wildly popular July event. The fancier, more expensive Golden Buckle VIP tickets weren't far behind. They're gone too.

My neighbor is a die-hard PBR fan, who has attended the Big Sky PBR with a tight group of friends for the last 10 years. Every year. Without fail. They take turns ordering tickets each year, with a couple of them with their finger on 'refresh' the morning the tickets go on sale. They're serious about buying tickets - and they know how quickly tickets can sellout. They did NOT get tickets.

Let's put it this way - if you weren't in the queue line for tickets half an hour before they went on sale Wednesday morning, you probably didn't get to buy general admission tickets. They sold out in about 20 minutes. (That number is an estimate from my neighbor's first hand experience.) The Golden Buckle VIP tickets (which are understandably far more expensive), were available much longer but eventually sold out as well.

Unfortunately, tickets are no longer available for this event as the ticket sales window has closed. Please check back later as the host may make more tickets available.

It's no surprise that this fantastic event sold out so quickly. It's fun, well-run, exciting, and in a gorgeous location. This event also raises a TON of money for local charities. Fans and participants alike love the Big Sky PBR event and look forward to it every year. Like the hottest concerts of the year, getting tickets now requires timing, focus, and a lot of luck.

I have been around the world three times and Big Sky is my favorite PBR stop. – Cord McCoy, Bull Stock Contractor & Former Professional Rodeo Cowboy

Folks who want to join the waitlist for either general admission tickets or the VIP Golden Buckle tickets can do so here. It's unclear at this time if and when any further tickets will become available. But if they do, you'll get an email letting you know how to get them.

Two important things come to mind when writing about this year's Big Sky PBR: First, I'm happy and relieved that a rodeo event is still so immensely popular in the Bozeman/Big Sky area that it sells out in minutes. Somehow that translates (in my brain) to us not having lost a unique part of what makes Montana, Montana. Rodeo isn't everyone's cup of tea, but it's still our cup of tea.

My second thought is disappointment for those that are incredibly loyal to events like this not getting tickets. If you're a 'return customer' of epic proportions, I'd like to think you'd get first crack at purchasing tickets. Especially if you're a local. If you don't immediately seize that opportunity, you'd be out of luck. But there's a piece of me that would like to see loyal locals get a better chance.

The 2023 Big Sky PBR is happening July 20th through the 22nd. In addition to the main event, there is a full week of rodeo related events to enjoy starting with the Big Sky Community Rodeo on July 14th. The Community Street Dance happens later that day at 9pm in Len Hill Park.
