Old Navy on North 19th in Bozeman will be closing its doors by the end of the month. Despite rumors, it's sister store next door, GAP, will be staying open. All this means that great deals are to be had right now at Old Navy.

After 10 years of business, the Old Navy store along North 19th Avenue in Bozeman plans to close later this month.

Old Navy corporate communications employee Margot Shaub confirmed that the store will close Jan. 26, although she would not say exactly what factors led to the Bozeman store's closing. She did list some generic factors that have led to other Old Navy's being shut down around the country: store location, performance and the number of competing stores in the area.

"We are constantly evaluating our store fleet to ensure we have the right stores in the right locations to serve our customers," Shaub said.

Shaub did not say how many employees would lose their jobs in the closure.

At the Old Navy's Bozeman location Friday, the store was blanketed with red signs reading "50 percent off already reduced items" on nearly every rack in the store. Old Navy store employees were not available to comment on about the store's closing, although one employee did disclose that the company plans to go public with a formal announcement Jan. 19.

Shaub also said The Gap store, adjacent to the Old Navy in the Bridger Peaks Town Center, will remain open, debunking rumors that store was slated for closure, as well.

Gap Inc., which owns the Old Navy franchise, operates 3,100 of the stores across the U.S. and in the United Kingdom, France, Canada, Ireland and Japan.
