'SNL' seemingly suffered a major blow this past season in losing such series greats as Fred Armisen, Jason Sudeikis and Bill Hader, with Seth Meyers to depart for his new 'Late Night' gig in 2014, so who's on deck to fill out the ranks? Sources say comedian John Milhiser, actress Noël Wells, and performers Kyle Mooney and Beck Bennett are among the top contenders for the cast, but how official is it?

News of John Milhiser and Noël Wells' casting comes via Deadline, though admittedly lacks official acknowledgement from NBC. Even then, the two would likely join the featured cast, for eventual ascension. Both stars are known for regular appearances at the Upright Citizens Brigade, which has brought to 'SNL' in the past such greats as the aforementioned Hader and Armisen, along with Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, Will Ferrell, and current cast members Bobby Moynihan and Kate McKinnon.

Mooney and Bennett in particular belong to sketch comedy group Good Neighbor, along with Nick Rutherford and filmmaker Dave McCary. Comedy Central has a development deal with the group, though 'SNL' will supposedly attempt to work things out for Mooney and Bennett.

Reports could very well change as we approach the 39th season of the long-running sketch comedy series, but what say you? Will new blood be able to balance out the combined departures of Fred Armisen, Jason Sudeikis, Bill Hader and Seth Meyers, not to mention others in recent years?

Tell us who you think has what it takes for the next season of 'SNL' in the comments, after previews of the new cast!
