What Business Should Open in Front of Bozeman’s East Main T&C?
If it were up to you, what kind of business or building would you like to see on that big, empty lot at the corner of East Main Street and Highland Boulevard?
The lot in question is located just north of the new East Main Town & Country Foods location. The big sign on the empty lot says that the pad is for lease, but that's not what we're curious about.
(BTW - for Bozeman old-timers, we're talking about the now empty lot that used to have the Continental Motor Inn and KO's, lol. If you know, you know. We'll jolt your memory with the old Google Maps photo below. I think this was taken before the meth lab explosion happened in one of their rooms.)
Anyway, if you could magically have ANY business open up in that now empty lot...what would you pick? Or would you want to see multi-use? Low income housing? Roller rink? It could be anything. We're not concerned with specific zoning or lease limits. It's just fun to toss around ideas.
This lot is in a prime location, really. It's extremely easy to access from the Main Street I-90 freeway exit, and it's also at a major intersection with a decent light on Main Street itself. (We're not sure where its driveway would be or if the business would share with T&C...that's not really the point.)
Restaurant? Retail? Boutique motel? Rules aside, the possibilities are endless. With a nice grocery store sharing the same large property, a quicky-mart/gas station across the street and a Streamline Bus stop on the property, functionally, almost any business might work.
