Just another day in paradise for the Livingston area and the Beartooth foothills. There's a Wind Advisory in effect until Tuesday evening for very gusty winds of up to 65 MPH.

If you'll be traveling between Livingston, Big Timber, Reed Point and areas south of that stretch of I-90, slow down and be very aware of the semi trucks. They'll be drifting around a bit today.

According to the National Weather Service:

  • WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM TUESDAY EVENING
  • WHAT...Southwest winds gusting up to 65 mph expected.
  • WHERE IS THIS WIND ADVISORY...Beartooth Foothills and Livingston Area, and areas near I-90 such as Big Timber and Reed Point.
  • WHEN...Until 6 PM this evening.
  • IMPACTS OF THIS WIND ADVISORY...Strong crosswinds will make travel difficult along Interstate 90 from Livingston to Big Timber and roads along the Beartooth Foothills.
  • PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Use extra caution and consider postponing travel until winds subside, or take an alternate route.

There are also High Wind Warnings in effect for a few counties in the northern portion of Montana, east of Glacier Park. Towns such as Browning, Choteau, Cutbank and Conrad will all be affected by the following warning.

  • HIGH WIND WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 9 PM TUESDAY EVENING.
  • WHAT...Southwest winds 35 to 45 mph, with gusts up to 65 mph expected.
  • WHERE...The Rocky Mountain Front, including all of Glacier and Pondera Counties.
  • WHEN...From Noon today to 9 PM Tuesday evening
  • IMPACTS...Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
