Hop on the in-town trails you know and love with a trail guide from GVLT this week. There will be special kid-friendly (and focused) walks too. You'll have lunchtime and evening options with a full schedule here.

Wednesday, July 8th- Biz Walks: Networking on the Trails (two locations)

12 p.m. @ Gallagator Trail (meet at Lend-A-Leash sign at the parking lot off of Church Ave) 12 p.m. @ Highland Glen Trails (meet at recycling station across from the hospital near the softball complex)
Step outside your office door and spend the noon hour al fresco! Join business leaders and co-workers from your business neighborhood for an easy walk on the trails led by a trail guide. This outing will familiarize you with the trails-where they go, why they're there, and who manages them-as you enjoy the benefits of a mid-day hour spent outside.

Thursday, July 9th - Be a Water Scientist with the Greater Gallatin Watershed Council
5:30 p.m. @ Bogert Park (meet at the pavilion)

Come along for a family-friendly evening of play and discovery in the creeks along the Gallagator trail. Kids can be a scientist with hands-on activities to measure stream flow and water chemistry in Matthew Bird Creek and examine aquatic insects in Bozeman Creek.Wear water shoes or sandals with straps. Recommended for ages 6 and up.

Saturday, July 11th - Wildflower Walk with Carolyn Hopper  9 a.m. @ The M Trail (meet at the base of the trail)

Come check out the last of the wildflowers! Carolyn Hopper, a local wildflower expert, will lead us on an exploration of the local flora. See if you can remember the names and identify the flowers on your next walk

Tuesday, July 14th - Meditation with Jessica Cartwright, Viva My Yoga  5:30 p.m. @ Cherry River (meet by the bathroom in the parking lot)

Get some peace and quiet after your day. Jessica will lead the group on a walk to a quiet place and will lead participants in a guided meditation. Let the sounds of the East Gallatin River lull you into a place of relaxation. This walk is open to ages; however young children may have a hard time with the silent meditation portion.

Thursday, July 16th - Hike to Yoga with FLOW Outside  5:30 p.m. @ Gallatin Regional Park (meet at the Dinosaur Park by the Fire Station on Davis)

Discover a new way to use your trails AND an innovative way to practice yoga. Join us as we hike this nearby trail and find a scenic spot for yoga. The yoga class will be designed for both people new to yoga and experienced folks. Bring a yoga mat or towel.

Tuesday, July 21st - Introduction to Bouldering with Montana Alpine Guides  5:30 p.m. @ Bozeman Ponds (meet by the bathrooms)

Enjoy a leisurely stroll around Bozeman Ponds. Our walk will lead us back to the climbing boulder, where we will be greeted by a local climbing expert who will introduce us to the sport of bouldering. The lesson will cover bouldering scale, how to sequence boulder "problems," how to move efficiently on the rock, how to spot and fall, and most importantly, how to enjoy bouldering.

Thursday, July 23rd- Trail Read for Kids with the Bozeman Public Library Children's Librarians
5:30 p.m. @ Gallagator Trail (meet at the Bozeman Public Library)

Reading and walking can go together! Come along fora short, easy walk for families followed by a brief read of a classic picture book or two on the grass at the Bozeman Public Library. Be sure to check out the trails information display inside the library to plan your next hike.

Saturday, July 25th- Morning Meander: Exercise and Walking Tips
9 a.m. @ Burke Park/ Peets Hill (meet at the Aspen Pointe Drive trailhead off of Highland Blvd.)

Join the staff from Hillcrest Senior Living for a slow-paced walk along the top of Peets Hill overlooking Bozeman and the surrounding mountains. They will teach you tips for easy and gentle walking and exercise. This walk will not be on the inclined portion of the trail and will be completely flat. It is perfect for people who want an easy morning stroll.

Monday, July 27th - Bike the Southside! with Gallatin Valley Bicycle Club  8 a.m. @ Southside Trails (Meet at the base of Peets Hill near the parking lot off of Church Ave.)

Looking for a new bike loop? Explore some of the tricky connections and 50 miles of trail south of Main Street with bike leader Bill Cochran. Bill will take you on an easy loop to explore the southside trails so you can enjoy them on your own! This ride is great for all levels of bikers.

Wednesday, July 29th - Sunset Photography with Diana Proemm Photography  7 p.m. @ Gallatin Regional Park (Meet at the kiosk to the trail at the parking lot off of Oak St.)

Good photos are all about light. Photographer Diana Proemm will teach you how to use light to truly capture the beauty of sunsets. You'll take a stroll around the ponds and stop periodically to take shots of the Bridger Mountains and scenery around you. Bring your own camera or phone. Beginners welcome!

Thursday, July 30th - Story Mill History with Museum of the Rockies  12 p.m. @ Story Mill Spur Trail (meet at Depot Park on Front St)

Walk the Story Mill Spur Trail to learn about the history of agriculture in the Gallatin Valley. A curator from the Museum of the Rockies will discuss the history of mill, the significance of grain production, and the influence that the Story family had on the development of Bozeman.

Friday, July 31st - Kids, Creeks, and Critters with the Montana Outdoor Science School
10 a.m. @ Sourdough Trail (meet at Tuckerman Park off of Goldenstein Lane)

Join the Montana Outdoor Science School for a fun family nature walk. The MOSS experts will point out interesting facts about Bozeman Creek and insects. They'll have fun interactive activities along the way.
