The Carnival Cruise line has been in the news the past month for the horrific trip guests had while they went on vacation on the Carnival Triumph. After loosing power, they had to deal with a lot as they were slowly pulled into a Texas port. The powerful photos of guests kissing the ground as they got off the ship have been seen by many. Well, this past week my fiance and I took a week long trip upon the Carnival Liberty, and we had a VERY different experience. This trip was one of the best weeks of my life.

Anyone who has flown commercially knows the instructions the flight attendants give prior to take off. The main emphasis is on the oxygen mask. In the event of depressurization, oxygen masks will drop from the ceiling and they demonstrate how to securely fasten it over your mouth. I've always wondered just how important the oxygen mask really is.

After watching this video I quickly realized why it is a very good idea to put that mask on as soon as possible.

Hey, remember this picture of the drunk guy on a flight from Iceland to New York City who had to be restrained with duct tape and zip ties? Allegedly he started screaming on the flight and tried to choke a fellow passenger after drinking a bottle of duty-free alcohol. The crew had to get a little...inventive to resolve the situation. Their solution certainly restrained him, but didn't do much to shut him up, as we now know, thanks to this video of him trying to scream through the duct tape over his mouth.

Last month, two-year-old Natalie was getting ready to take off on a JetBlue flight with her parents and her sister from Turks and Caicos to Boston. As two-year-olds are wont to do, little Natalie started to throw a fit. After about five minutes of some pretty intense screaming, Dr. Colette Vieau and her husband, Dr. Mordecai Stolk, were able to get their toddler under control and strapped into her seat.

But the pilot of the plane had already heard enough, and made the decision to return to the gate and eject the family from the flight for violating FAA regulations.

My trips to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital have allowed me time to explore the wonderful city of Memphis, TN. If you haven't ever been - let me fill you in on some of my favorites!

The Peabody Hotel - This is THE historic hotel directly off of Bealle Street. The Hotel has been there since 1869, and is where the rich and famous stay when they visit Memphis. The Peabody is famous for their Peabody Ducks, which come down from their "duck house" ever morning via elevator, walk the red carpet to their fountain, where they stay most of the day. Then there's a big ceremony (every day) where they walk back down the red carpet, into the elevator, and back up to their duck house. The Peabody is amazing in every way, from their food, to the spa, service and more - its a must see (even if you can't afford to stay) on your Memphis tour.
